With the credit crunch still in full flow a lot of people are actually choosing to do the work themself rather than going to sombody who knows what they are doing. Then again if something bad does go wrong you are going to be charge the premium rate if it is in the holiday period. A home emergency insurance policy is the best thing to have to make sure you do not have to pay out a lot as normal home insurance will simply not cover it.
